Instructional Designer
I have five years’ experience as an instructional designer at GP Strategies Corporation in Alexandria, VA.
In that time, I’ve had the opportunity to work with (and learn from) an outstanding team of multimedia developers, graphic artists, technical writers, computer programmers, and project managers to design and build cost-effective products for our clients’ many needs.
An Instructional Designer (ISD) employs something called the ADDIE process – Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation – to address performance gaps.
As an ISD, I’ve had the opportunity to develop:
- Job task analyses and training needs assessments;
- Instructor-led training, job aids, manuals, and quick reference guides;
- Instructor development training;
- Web-based training, interactive scenarios, and simulations;
- CD-ROM-based training and interactive manuals;
- Video-based training and information programs;
- Internet- and Intranet-based knowledge management applications;
- Training marketing and implementation plans; and
- Training evaluation plans and data collection instruments.
My unique and feature-rich skill set, highlighted on this web site, enables me to develop interactive multimedia pieces as well as create and edit graphics. In addition to strong writing skills, I have extensive experience in film and video production, audio production, motion graphics, animation, and music composition.
